Dutch grid operator TenneT awards project to Primo Marine
Dutch grid operator TenneT recently awarded a project to Primo Marine to determine how to deal with the nitrogen-oxide emissions of future cable installation projects. The nitrogen-compound (NOx, NH3) problem is particular to the Netherlands due to the high density of agricultural and industrial activity.
Primo Marine investigated the applicable regulations, available vessels and technologies, as well as high-level implications of requiring the most stringent norms to be applied to its projects. The findings lined up nicely with TenneT’s own market consultation.
